Two Israeli troops were wounded after an attack along the country's border with Egypt.

They were treated for injuries at a hospital in Beersheba.

Israeli forces say the attack on the soldiers came from somewhere in Egypt --- and included both gunfire and anti-tank missiles.

While Islamist militants are active throughout the peninsula bordering southern Israel, cross-border attacks are rare.
