On Tuesday, Jose Luis Abarca, ex-Mayor of Iguala, Guerrero, was arrested in the Mexican capital along with his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda. Both are accused of having ordered the police repression against the Ayotzinapa students. They face charges of murder and kidnapping but are not being charged with the students' disappearance by the federal government. President Enrique Peña Nieto himself confirmed the arrest. But activists charge the government is trying to put all the responsibility on Abarca and are continuing and escalating the protests being held throughout the country. teleSUR
