Words are untouchable things
Syllables of shining gold
Lively grave can words be
And cherished by the young and old
Words shine in pools of sun
And bask in walls of hate
They cover the world in love
Love for the live and the late
Words light up midnight blackness
As beacons in the dark
They rid the world of misery
Yet have before torn it apart
Words are artworks in the making
Of brilliant quality paints
Words are muderous and spiteful
Though they're lovers, teachers and saints
Words can start a war
With they're violent hurtful fist
They can punch a hole through a heart
With a painful remark hissed
But words can beg forgiveness
And mend a swollen soul
They can fix a broken heart
And fill a bottomless hole
A life without words
Would be no life at all
So listen to mine now
As it's you that home I call
