This week's China-Community of Latin American States (CELAC) summit was marked by Beijing's commitment to up investment in the region by US$250 billion in the next 10 years. Trade between Latin America and China is expected to surpass half a trillion dollars in the next decade. Such relations between Latin America and China are considered of strategic importance and Beijing is expected to be the region's leading trade partner by 2030. Liz Scherffius reports.
