This video lecture from Group VA and Group VIA Elements (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers the reactions of nitrous acid as a reducing agent. Nitrous acid has a tendency to get oxidized into nitric acid. In such reactions it reduces the other compound such as decolorization of potassium permanganate upon reduction of Mn from +7 to +2 oxidation state in manganese sulfate. Nitrous acid also reduces bromine into bromide ions. Find more e-learning material and educational video lectures in Urdu at maktab.pk.
