Four friends driving from central to eastern Japan found themselves in a scary situation last week, when their car crashed on the highway.
Police say the driver lost control of the car and one of the passengers, a 20-year-old woman, was flung from the vehicle and lost consciousness.
When she awoke, the first thing she did, was to take a selfie and post it to social media with the message: “I’m still alive!” She then proceeded to take photos of the car instead of checking herself or her friends for injuries.
Her photo on Twitter has garnered a lot of attention from netizens who criticized her, saying that there is a time and place to fulfill the Japanese tourist stereotype and snap photos of everything, and on the highway, right after a serious car crash isn’t it!
We definitely agree.
