Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa says his government has hosted preliminary negotiations with Colombia’s second largest guerrilla group, the National Liberation Army, ELN. He did not disclose when or where the talks took place, but said that Ecuador would be willing to provide space for further negotiations if necessary. The announcement comes as the FARC and the Colombian government are engaged in peace talks and the ELN recently indicated that it might join in the talks in a meeting with the FARC in Havana. teleSUR
