On Friday Guatemala’s Congress will discuss whether or not to strip President Otto Perez Molina of his immunity. The Supreme Court decided on Wednesday to proceed with an investigation into the President’s alleged involvement in corruption. Congress will name a commission that will decide on lifting his immunity. Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in recent weeks to demand the President’s removal and several officials have already stepped down over a corruption scandal in the nation’s customs service. teleSUR
