St. Lucia School Food Program Seeks to Aid Children's Welfare

In an effort to boost nutritional levels among children, several Caribbean countries including St. Lucia are expanding a school food program. Although considered costly, such programs are also viewed as necessary. An 2012 FAO study shows that the programs offer three promising results: an increase in school attendance, improved learning by students, and economic benefits for family farmers providing agricultural produce.
