15 vjet pas tragjedisë se Otrantos ku humben jetën 84 persona, janë sjelle ne Vlore pjese te anijes Kateri i Rades, mes te cilave busulla dhe feneri. Ndërkohe qe mjeti lundrues qe shkaktoi tragjedinë me te madhe për shqiptaret ne detin Jon është kthyer ne monument ne shtetin fqinj. Te afërm te viktimave i janë drejtuar gjate paradites Kalates Zero, pikërisht vendit ku anija do te nisej drejt Italisë por pa mbërritur ne destinacion për shkak te përplasjes me anijen ushtarake italiane Sibila. Aktivitetit përkujtimor i janë bashkuar edhe deputete e pushtetarë lokale. Ndërkohe tre pjesët e anijes janë dërguar ne sheshin e skelës ku parashikohet te ngrihet një monument ne përkujtim te viktimave.
