Niveli larte i borxhit dhe ulja e konsumit janë dy problemet kryesore qe pengojnë rritjen ekonomike ne Shqipëri. Konkluzionet janë nxjerre nga dy raportet e fundit te institucioneve ndërkombëtare, si FMN dhe BERZH.
Nga ana tjetër, ekspertët sqarojnë se në këtë parashikim ka ndikuar mjaft edhe kriza në eurozonë, qe ka gjasa të ulë eksportet, por tani rëndësi ka shtrëngimi i politikave fiskale. Sipas parashikimit te fundit te FMN-se, rritja ekonomike e Shqipërisë për këtë vit do te jete vetëm 0.5 për qind, madje mesatarja e 5 viteve të ardhshme nuk do e kalojë 2.5%. Nga ana tjetër, qeveria ka parashikuar për 2012-ën se niveli i Produktit të Brendshëm Bruto do të jetë 3.5%, por ende nuk dihet nëse do e rishikojë këtë shifër në një nivel më të lartë apo më të ulët.
