Qëndrimi i opozitës për shqyrtimin ne shtator te heqjes se imunitetit ka nxitur reagimin e mazhorances. Kuvendi dhe kryeministria kane kërkuar nga PS te votoje ndryshimin e kushtetutës për çështjen e imunitetit ne seancën plenare te 6 gushtit. Ne një deklarate për mediat kryetarja e Kuvendit, Jozefina Topalli thekson rëndësinë e votimit te heqjes se imunitetit si një nga 12 kërkesat e Komisionit Evropian qe Shqipëria te marre statusin e vendit kandidat. Topalli i kujton opozitës se ne Konferencën e Kryetareve ku u vendos 6 gushti si data për votimin e heqjes se imunitetit përfaqësuesit e PS nuk patën asnjë kundërshtim. Ne te njëjtën linje, kryeministri Berisha nëpërmjet zëdhënëses Erla Mehilli ka akuzuar opozitën se kërkon te bllokoje statusin e kandidatit. Edhe aleatit kryesor i PD, LSI, ka apeluar qe imuniteti te votohet ne 6 gusht. Një dite me pare, Partia Socialiste gjate takimit me trojkën e ambasadoreve beri te qarte se kërkon qe ne kushtetute te ndërhyhet ne sesionin e vjeshtës, pasi nuk dëshiron te beje ndryshime te nxituara.
