Footage has emerged from Australia of a deadly funnel web spider hanging out in a children's paddling pool.

The video, filmed on January 2 in New South Wales, shows the three children playing in their new water park jumping castle Christmas present, only to have their fun and games interrupted by the highly poisonous spider.

The filmer later wrote online: "Thankfully, the children were able to alert their father who was able to remove it and send it to the Australian Reptile Park where the funnel webs are milked for their venom which is then processed into anti-venom for any unfortunates who are actually bitten."
