Kathmandu, June 13 (ANI): Almost nine months after leaving the Maoist party that fought a decade-long people’s war, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday announced the formation of a new party 'Naya Shakti Nepal'. Dr. Bhattarai announced his new party to rapturous applause of thousands of founding members during a function held at Dasharath Stadium. Former prime minister Bhattarai had left the United Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on September 26 last soon after the promulgation of the new constitution. He had been campaigning for 'Naya Shakti' after his fallout with the establishment of the former Maoist rebels. With the promulgation of the new constitution, Bhattarai flouted the idea of Naya Shakti arguing that the political struggle was over, and now it was not possible to lead the country to economic prosperity as envisioned by the statute by the same old parties with their old school of thought.
