According to area police, the motorist involved struck a pedestrian at about 6:30 that morning.
The fatally wounded victim broke through the windshield, with the upper half of his body landing in the front passenger seat, notes the Times of San Diego.
Authorities also report one of the individual’s legs disengaged and came down on the vehicle’s trunk.
The driver allegedly did not stop, but rather continued on for about a mile before abandoning the car in a cul-de-sac.
Area police have since arrested the suspect.
According to KNSD, 29-year-old Esteysi Sanchez Izazaga, who is also known as Stacy Sanchez, was taken into custody.
She has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run, and felony DUI.
