A column of thick smoke and ash rose from a crater at the Colima volcano in Mexico on Sunday, October 9, through to Monday. Mexican army on Monday delivered aid to communities in the municipalities of Comala and Cuauhtemoc, which were affected by the volcanic activity.

Geophysics Institute at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Instituto de Geofisica de la UNAM) member Hugo Delgado Cranados said eruptions at the volcano had become more frequent, reported Diario de Colima.
