Learn how to make Tomato Ketchup at home from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani Basic Cooking. Tomato Ketchup is a quick and easy to make sauce recipe prepared from tomato pulp and aromatic spices.
Ingredients:
1/2 kg Tomato
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
3 tbsp Sugar
1 inch Cinnamon
3-4 Cloves
8-10 Black Pepper
2 Masala Cardamom
1 Green Chilli
7-8 Garlic
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Vinegar
Salt
Water
Method:
- Grind the tomatoes in a mixer blender. Pass the tomato pulp through a sieve and keep it aside.
- Heat a sauce pan. Add the tomato pulp, red chilli powder, sugar and salt. Mix everything well.
- Take a muslin cloth. Add cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, masala cardamom, green chilli, garlic and cumin seeds. Tie the knot and add this to the tomato pulp.
- Add little water and vinegar. Let everything come to a boil.
- Once the sauce thickens switch off the flame. Remove the spices tied in muslin cloth.
- You can store this tomato sauce in a refrigerator for couple of months.
