Mexico’s Colima volcano erupted multiple times on December 17, spewing lava down its flanks and emitting columns of steam and ash over the Jalisco and Colima provinces.
Jalisco’s civil protection department said that the columns of volcanic ash were over 6,000 feet high as the active volcano continued its periodic exhalations.
