HYDERABAD: Targeting Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government for its ‘neglect’ towards issues facing Sindh, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his public address in Hyderabad announced to build university as well as distribution of health cards in the city.

“We will soon lay foundation stone of a university in Hyderabad that will be built at a cost of Rs 1 billion,” announced the PM during his address to workers convention in the city.

He also announced an international airport in Hyderabad city.

Besides some major announcements of uplift projects, he said a Rs 500 million grant will be given for development in Hyderabad.

He said the PPP never pursued development agenda in its tenure from 2008 to 2013, leading to suffering of masses in the province.

The prime minister said Hyderabad was neither different from Karachi where cleanliness situation is at its worse. “I saw piles of garbage along different streets during my visit in Karachi…why did the authorities concerned didn’t move to address this problem,” he questioned.

Mr. Sharif also asked why didn’t the PPP government initiate motorway in Sindh despite their long years in power.

He said people must ask the leaders reasons of their inaction towards plights of masses.

The PM said the situation of Pakistan was now changing under the PML-N government. Balochistan and other cities were now gearing towards development, he claimed.

“Tell me how many villages in Sindh require electricity, I will ensure supply of power to all those areas,” he promised.
