With less than a week to go until Iranians vote for their next president, incumbent Hassan Rouhani has been working hard on the campaign trail as he seeks a second term, rallying supporters to oppose his hardline opponents.

On Sunday, Rouhani touched down in the western Lorestan province before addressing thousand of supporters, many of them clad in purple, at the university in Khorramabad.

This footage was shared by one of Rouhani’s supporters. He said crowds were shouting slogans demanding the release of reformist politicians Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, who have been held under house arrest since 2011. Both stood in the 2009 election that triggered mass protests over allegations of vote-rigging.

Iranians will cast their ballots on May 19, with a second round of voting to take place two weeks later if none of the candidates secure an absolute majority.
