For female veterans, returning to the workforce can be hard and downright scary. Makeovers That Matter was founded in 2012 by Michael John (MJ) Derricott. The focus of this organization is to help female veterans and economically challenged women get back to work.

Makeovers That Matter offers these women free hair, makeup and wardrobe counseling services to help them look interview ready. This not only helps them look their best, but also feel their best and be more confident. These veterans also have access to free counseling with an employment specialist who will help them write their resumes, teach them how to successfully interview for a potential position, and learn about long term career opportunities. It doesn't stop there... they also get empowerment counseling to help instill the confidence they need to get back on their feet, because they believe makeovers work from the inside out!
