Pondicherry: Prominent people in Kerala evade tax worth crores of rupees by registering their vehicles in Pondicherry so as to avail the low taxes in the union territory. The S class Benz, costing more than Rs 1 crore, owned by actor Amala Paul is registered in Pondicherry, an investigation by Mathrubhumi News haws found. Her car has been registered under the address of a student in Pondicherry who has no idea about the deal. If the car was registered in Kerala, Amala would have had to pay Rs 20 lakh towards tax.
