So a lot of places claim to have the best beef soup in town, right? Well, legend has it that before the controlling Japanese departed Korea, they burned down everything in the area except this restaurant because the beef soup was so damn good. Consequently, the restaurant has stayed open for 77 years from generation to generation, and is still serving the same beef soup. They now have three locations in Seoul – Myeongdong (tourist destination), Yeouido (financial district), and COEX (shopping district) – but only serve until the broth is gone everyday. A popular local lunch destination, the soup doesn’t last past 4pm so line up early and get your storied slurp on.
