India were playing at 371 runs as 1st day of the 3rd test match came to a close. After the host won the toss, they lost Dhawan and Pujara in the first session. But then it was skipper Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay who batted really well for the 4th wicket and both the batsmen slammed their 150s. Unfortunately India lost 2 more wickets just before the day was about to come to an end. It was Vijay and Rahane who were both stumped out in a similar fashion on the bowling of Sandakan. Ahead of the long tour of South Africa, India’s top batsmen will test their skill and temperament against a Sri Lanka attack that has shown fire at times.
