More than 3,000 protesters took to the streets of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan on Sunday, December 17, to call for cleaner air and regulation of air quality.
This livestreamed footage from the rally shows the participants marching along Kaohsiung’s Bo’ai 2nd Road, waving banners and chanting slogans.
According to Taipei Times, ralliers specifically demanded a ban on coal burning and that state-run companies, including Taiwan Power Company, CPC Corporation and China Steel Corporation, reduce pollution emissions by 50 percent within three years. Credit: Facebook/TaiwanAirClear via Storyful
