Thousands of Kurdish fighters gathered in northern Syria on January 23, responding to a call to service against a Turkish-led offensive in Afrin, according to local reports.
About 2,000 fighters from Kurdish groups gathered in a stadium in Hasaka city and vowed to defend the province of Afrin and all areas of northern Syria against the Turkish offensive, according to statement released by Defense and Self-Defense Authority.
