The National Weather Service in San Juan warned residents to stay away from the coastline, forecasting waves 15 to 20-feet high. A local news site, Jornada PR, reported that police had evacuated families from homes on the coast of Mar Azul and nearby Hatillo, and closed roads due to flooding from the sea.
