Palestinian reports cited the use of tear gas and “live rounds,” while the Israel Defense Forces said its troops were “firing in accordance with the rules of engagement.”
The IDF said there was “rioting” at five locations along the border. It said there had been “several attempts to harm or breach the security infrastructure”.
Palestinian news sources cited the Gaza health ministry as saying more than 300 people were injured.
