A rising St. John River triggered evacuations in the Fredericton, New Brunswick, area on Saturday, April 28. The rain was at 1.7 meters above flood level and and approaching levels last reached in 2008, the last major flood, a news report said.
Officials helped evacuate 10 homes overnight, and several other peoples evacuated on their own. Several roads and highways had to be closed because of flooding.
