Kata-Noi Beach is a small, beautiful stretch of white sand south of Kata Beach on the Island of Phuket, Thailand.
Kata-Noi Beach is a very quiet and relaxing beach. A stunning view with white sand and crystal clear blue water are the attributes normally used to describe this beach. Kata-Yai and Kata-Noi is the Thai way to speak about those beaches and means “this one is big and the other one is little”. Kata Noi being the little one!
When you approach Kata-Noi from Kata Beach you’ll pass by the “Mom Tri’s Villa Royale”. As a matter of fact the name “Royale”, for this former private summer house, was not chosen randomly as Khun Mom Luang Tridosyuth Devakul, the creative mind behind Mom Tri’s Villa Royale, is a well known and respected artist and architect as well as a descendant of his majesty King Rama IV, better known as King Mongkut in the western world. King Mongkut embraced Western innovations and initiated the modernization of his country, both in technology and culture, earning him the nickname “The Father of Science and Technology” in Siam. After you pass “Mom Tri’s Villa Royale” you’ll see a parking space with the beach directly on your right.
There is literally nothing else to do in this area except going to the beach, eating, resting and planning your next move for the evening. If this is your ideal description of a holiday? Welcome to Kata-Noi! While it is easy to miss if no one told you about this beach, it has the benefit of being only five minutes away from the buzzing Kata Beach strip with all its day and evening culinary offerings. Another option, if you wish to view the sun going down over Kata-Noi, is to do so from a string of bars lined up on the road leading to Nai Harn which all have a reputation for serving good food and ice cold beer.
