The sound of explosions rocked the Gaza Strip and neighboring areas of southern Israel after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas traded strikes late Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning.
Palestinian media reported Hamas forces launched at least 10 rockets and a “number of rocket-propelled grenades” after IDF aircraft targeted a Hamas base on June 19.
Hamas later launched 30 rockets into Israel from Gaza, according to the IDF. The IDF targeted 25 targets in Gaza in response. Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted at least seven of the Hamas rockets.
The Hamas-affiliated Shebab News Agency reported at least four people were injured in the strikes on the Gaza Strip. They reported two Hamas officers were injured in Rafah, and two other people were injured in Khan Younis and Jabalia. Credit: Al-Hadath via Storyful
