The Weston Pass Fire grew by 3,000 acres overnight in Fairplay, Colorado, to a total of 9,000-acres. Officials reported zero-percent containment by July 3.

Evacuation notices were issued to the Campground of the Rockies Association in Park County and areas of Black Mountain on July 2.

Officials said the cause of the fire was lightning.
