Trump's Approval Rating Raised During Putin Summit The President's approval rating moved slightly last week from 44 percent in June to 45 percent. His disapproval rating sank slightly from 53 to 52 percent. The poll surveyed 900 registered voters, just as Trump and Putin began the Helsinki summit. The approval rating among Republicans is at a record high for Trump's presidency, hitting 88 percent. During the summit, Trump seemed to side with Russian President Putin over the U.S. intelligence community on whether or not the Russians meddled in the 2016 election. When he returned to Washington, Trump took back his statement, saying he meant to say he didn't see a reason why Russia 'wouldn't' interfere in American elections. Trump's approval remains
the lowest of any
modern president.
