The growing River Fire in Mendocino County, California, stood at almost 29,000 acres and was 12-percent contained on July 31.
Seven homes and three outbuildings were reported destroyed by the fire, with more than 12,000 structures threatened.
The Ranch Fire and the River Fire of the Mendocino Complex Fire collectively had burned more than 80,000 acres by July 31, according to ABC 7.
