A black rhino calf gave Chester Zoo visitors more than they bargained for when it entered the world during visiting hours on August 1.
Chester Zoo shared news about resident black rhino Malindi’s calf on August 2, as well as video and photos of the little one, who was born after a 15-month pregnancy. The zoo wrote that the calf was up on its feet within 15 minutes of its birth, and as the videos prove, it was happy to stick close by its mom. There are only 650 black rhinos left in the wild, and the species is listed as critically endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Credit: Chester Zoo via Storyful
