According to Reuters, a federal judge ordered the State Department to conduct an environmental review of a revised route for a pipeline.
US District Court Judge Brian Morris ruled the State Department was obligated to analyze new information relevant to the environmental impact.
The ruling is the latest in a prolonged legal saga regarding the Keystone XL oil pipeline, while providing another setback for the pipeline's operator TransCanada Corp.
For over a decade, environmental groups and indigenous tribes have fought the pipeline's construction, but their efforts have only altered it's route; 1,180 miles of pipeline are now in the ground.
TransCanada stated they are reviewing the court's decision, and plan to being additional construction in the second quarter of 2019.
