Pink Cadillacs and dignitaries joined family and friends in Detroit, Michigan, on August 31 for the funeral of legendary singer Aretha Franklin at Greater Grace Temple. Along with the pink cars, well-wishers lined the intersections.
These videos show the line of dozens of pink Cadillacs – referencing her paean to the Detroit automobile industry, Freeway of Love – as the hearse carrying Franklin’s body and limousines carrying family and guests turn onto Seven Mile Road, a block from the church.
Many of the pink Cadillacs were driven by Mary Kay Cosmetics sales consultants, who receive one of the iconic cars with a $100,000 sales year. Credit: Keena via Storyful
