Mandatory evacuation orders were in place for homes on Snell Valley Road and nearby areas in California on Saturday, September 8, after the fast-moving Snell Fire multiplied in size in just a few hours.
Cal Fire reported that some 180 structures were threatened. The fire was first reported at 2:29 pm, they said, and, by about 9 pm, it had grown to 1,700 acres and was just 10 percent contained. Credit: ALERTWildFire & Nevada Seismological Laboratory via Storyful
