Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi is missing and Turkish authorities believe he was killed in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. The 59-year-old reporter has often been critical of the Saudi Arabian government. He entered the consulate last Tuesday and hasn't been seen since. According to Business Insider, Saudi Arabia claims Khashoggi left the consulate and rejects claims he was killed, but no evidence has been provided to back up this assertion. The Turkish government is demanding the Saudis prove Khashoggi left the consulate. There is also evidence that US intelligence may have known about a Saudi plot to capture Khashoggi prior to his disappearance.
