17 अक्टूबर को नवरात्र का आठवां दिन है। इसे महाअष्टमी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। आज के दिन दुर्गा की आठवीं शक्ति माता महागौरी की उपासना की जायेगी। इनका रंग पूर्णतः गोरा होने के कारण इन्हें महागौरी कहा जाता है। आज के दिन महागौरी की उपासना करने से धन-सम्पत्ति में वृद्धि होती है और व्यक्ति के अंदर असंभव को संभव बनाने की शक्ति उत्पन्न होती है। अतः इन सब चीज़ों की प्राप्ति के लिये देवी मां की उपासना करें।
