Let's start with the freezing temperatures we are being forced to endure in South Korea.
It was the coldest morning of the winter season so far with the mercury far below freezing.
Braving the cold to give us an update on the weather ,we have our Lee Jee-hyun standing by at one of Seoul's busiest commuter hubs, Gangnam Station.
Jee-hyun, give us details?
Hi Mark. The weather today is no joke. It feels like being in a freezer...it felt like minus 17 degrees Celsius here in Seoul this morning... so it's no wonder people are bundled up today. Seoul was even colder than Moscow this morning, and temperatures will remain below zero all day.
It feels a lot like mid winter with a cold wave advisory being issued in many parts of the country, dry weather alerts are also in place in many regions including here in Seoul.
Snow is in the forecast for Jeolla-do provinces and Jeju Island into tomorrow, Korea's easternmost islands of Dokdo and Ulleungdo will see 10 to 30 centimeters of heavy snow.
Expect sub-freezing temperatures all day, Seoul reaching a high of minus 6 degrees.... Busan and Jeju will also notice big drops in temperatures today so stay warm.
The cold snap is likely to persist through the remainder of 2018. But there's good news for those plan to head out to see the last sunset of 2018 and the first sunrise of the new year... the weather should become a bit more bearable by then.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday season but make sure you bundle up if you head out to any winter festivals. That's all for now, stay warm
