1 In the thirty-fourth and thirty-fifth stanza Arjuna says;
|| Matulah Svashurah Pautrah Shyalah Sambandhinas Tatha
Etan na Hantum Icchami Ghnato ‘Pi Madhusudanah ||34||
|| Api Trailokya - Rajyasya Hetoh Kim Nu Mahi-Krte
Nihatya Dhartharastran Nah Ka Pritih Syaj Janardhana ||35||
2 Here Arjuna addresses Lord Krishna by two names mentioned in the Vishnu Sahasranama.
3 ‘Madhusudana’, that means the destroyer of Demon Madhu and ‘Janardhana’ means he who looks after everyone.
4 These stanzas can be roughly translated as;
O Madhusudana, when these elders are staking their lives and riches for the war, I am not prepared to slay them even if they want to take my life. O Janardhana, what to speak for the earth, not even in exchange for the three worlds, it does not befit us to kill our own cousins, the sons of Dhritarashtra.
5 Watch the next video in Bhagavad Geeta series where Arjuna tells Krishna why he shouldn’t kill his cousins.
