At least nine people were killed and dozens injured after a devastating fire raced through a crowded slum in the Bangladeshi port city of Chittagong on February 17, 2019. The blaze broke out the early morning at about 3.30am, when most of the residents were asleep. An investigation is underway but an official said the fire in the Bhera Market slum may have been started by an electric short circuit.
