Around 100 villagers protesting the state government's move to acquire land for constructing an IIM campus at Nagri village turned violent on Wednesday morning as they started demolishing the boundary wall of the proposed law university and other institutions, prompting police to resort to lathicharge to disperse them. The police action spurred the protesters to throw brickbats leaving four policemen, including rural SP Asim Vikrant Minj, injured. Three villagers were also wounded in the lathicharge. A woman, who was hurt on the eyes and head, was taken to hospital.
