Bihar is set to vote in the fourth and penultimate phase of its assembly election on Sunday—a critical day for both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the grand alliance of JD(U), RJD, Congress.
This phase covers 55 seats across seven north-central and north-western districts, considered saffron strongholds where the BJP won 26 seats in 2010 when it had an alliance with the JD(U). Moreover, the NDA hopes to maintain the momentum that let it sweep 53 of 55 assembly segments in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. More than 14 million people are eligible to vote across 7 districts to decide fate of 776 candidates, including 57 women.
