The first phase of the Bihar assembly polls for 71 seats will take place on october 28th is crucial for both the ruling NDA alliance and the opposition Grand Alliance. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced schedule for Bihar elections, which will take place in three phases beginning from October 28. “Bihar to vote in three phases. 1st phase, 71 Assembly constituencies in 16 districts, including most of the LWE (Left wing extremism) affected districts will go for poll. In 2nd phase, 94 Assembly constituencies in 17 districts & in 3rd phase, 78 Assembly constituencies in 15 districts will go for poll. Bihar to vote in 3 phases on 28th October, 3rd and 7th November; results on 10th November,” announced Chief Election Commissioner.

కరోనా నేపథ్యంలో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా జరుగుతున్న తొలి ఎన్నికలు బీహార్‌ అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికలే. ఈ ఎన్నికలు గతేడాది భారీ మెజారిటీతో కేంద్రంలో అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన ఎన్డీయేకు కఠిన పరీక్షగా మారాయి. బీహార్‌లో ప్రస్తుతం అధికారంలో ఉన్న ఎన్డీయే కూటమితో లుకలుకల నేపథ్యంలో ఈ ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలు జేడీయూ, బీజేపీకి జీవన్మరణ సమస్యగా కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. అదే సమయంలో ఆర్జేడీ, కాంగ్రెస్‌ ఇతర పార్టీలతో కూడిన మహాకూటమికీ ఈ ఎన్నికలు కీలకంగా మారిపోయాయి.
