Sraddha or Shradh offered during Pitru Paksha, i.e. dark fortnight or Krishna paksha in the month of Ashwin (September-October) is of great importance in Hindu religion. Sraddha is the ceremonies and rituals performed for the departed souls of dead ancestors. It is believed that the souls will attain peace by the Shraddh rituals performed during the fortnight. ऐसी मान्यता है कि पितृपक्ष में हमारे घर के दिवगंत सदस्यों की आत्मा धरती पर आती है और पूरे सोलह दिनों तक यह आत्माएं धरती पर ही रहती हैं। इस बार पितृपक्ष की शुरुआत 24 सितंबर से हो चुकी है और लोगों ने अपने पूर्वजों की आत्मा की शांति के लिए श्राद्ध करना शुरू कर दिया है। लेकिन क्या आप यह जानते हैं कि श्राद्ध करने का हक़ भी हर किसी को नहीं होता। जैसे यदि आपके तीन पुत्र हैं तो उसमें सिर्फ बड़े या छोटे को ही श्राद्ध करने का अधिकार होता है।
