The U.S. says that it is close to finalizing parts of a "phase one trade deal" with China,... adding much progress has been made.
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative issued a statement on Friday following its chief negotiator Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin having a phone conversation with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.
It added discussions will go on continuously at the deputy level.
When asked about China, President Trump told reporters that he is "doing very well",... increasing the prospects of a deal between Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the APEC Summit next month in Chile.
