In a day replete with hectic political activities in Maharashtra, action shifted to Supreme Court by Saturday evening. SC will hear a petition by the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress against the "arbitrary and malafide actions/decisions" of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in swearing-in Devendra Fadnavis as chief minister. NCP chief Sharad Pawar indicated that his nephew Ajit Pawar had gone rogue and said that he had taken a "personal decision" not supported by the party. On Saturday evening, Jayant Patil was chosen as Ajit Pawar's replacement at a meeting of the NCP legislative party.

महाराष्ट्र में सत्ता की लड़ाई अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गई है. देवेंद्र फडणवीस की सीएम और अजित पवार को डिप्टी सीएम पद की शपथ दिलाने के महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोश्यारी के फैसले के खिलाफ शिवसेना, राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी और कांग्रेस सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गई है। तीनों दलों की संयुक्त याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में रविवार को सुबह 11:30 बजे सुनवाई होगी। दूसरी तरफ एनसीपी ने बागी अजित पवार पर बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए विधायक दल के नेता के पद से हटा दिया है. अजित पवार की जगह जयंत पाटिल को एनसीपी के विधायक दल का नया नेता चुना गया है.
