While speaking to ANI in Mumbai on February 22, veteran Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik said, “On February 21, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. CM has clarified that in the meeting with the PM he had demanded that pending amount of GST should be released to the state of Maharashtra.” “Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) implementation is not with the state but it is with the Centre. CM assured nobody will have to afraid because of it as there will be no NRC in the state of Maharashtra,” he added. “Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP will finalise the questionnaire of Census then will go ahead with the same,” Nawab Malik further stated.
